We met the amazing guys from EKAM for the first time in February 2026, during the competition UAE SWAT Challenge 2026, in Dubai, where we established an amazing communication and friendship. Those were the moments when we first talked about the possibility to visit the elite anti-terrorist unit of the Hellenic Police.
The same religion and strong historical ties, which date back to Byzantine era, connect two people, while EKAM itself is well respected in Serbia, especially within the tactical community, while older operators still remember the times, around 2015, when both Greek and Serbian warriors had joint cooperation. More than a decade later, it would have been great to see the very best from Serbia and Greece to come together again and carry out joint training. There is much that these guys could share.
As months were passing, we were trying to get the needed approvals, and the word finally came at the beginning of July 2026! We had a few days to make the needed preparations, in order to work with the guys for two consecutive days.
We wanted to focus on urban environments, especially CQB, deeming that EKAM is a classic police anti-terrorist unit. It was founded in 1978, the same year as SAJ from the Republic of Serbia. It has three operational elements on three sites in Greece - Markopoulo, Thessaloniki and Crete and, when needed, each of the elements is able to assist to others in a short period of time. The unit has a significant combat experience and has regular joint trainings from the very best units within the ATLAS organization.
The flight from Belgrade to Athens went well, the guys welcomed us at the airport, and we went for a short tour within their base in Markopoulo. The facility can be described in one word – superb! And, it has a potential to be even better!
It had been built in 2003, for the needs of the Olympic games, with EKAM basing since 2015. In the meantime, the facility had been upgraded in order to meet the needs of the unit. Right now, it is amongst the best equipped facilities in Europe, with several superbly built shooting ranges, outdoor and indoor killhouses, entire outdoor CQB course, with containers with real premises, breaching course, airplane course to practice assaults, rappelling tower, artificial rock climbing walls, etc. In other words, the unit is able to conduct almost all of the activities within its regular plan and program of training, without a need to leave the base. That is a very important fact, especially when it comes to conducting specialty trainings, such as sniping, for example.
After the short tour, we had some leusire for socializing, and the guys were great hosts, especially when we had a dinner together, during which we had witnessed all the amazing traits of Greek cuisine and hospitality.

We went through our plan of activites once again, and the next morning our work started. Bearing in mind the hot weather in Athens on the occassion, we did our best to make our work as short and effective as possible. The operators wore their full CQB loadouts, mostly in black color, including ballistic visors on their helmets, so every minute saved was surely appreciated. Even though the temperature was high, the guys were were attentive, keen to work, ready to discuss different scenarios, find best angles and positions, in order to create both tactically justified and attractive content.
We worked with four experienced operators, within the outdoor CQB course, focusing on their tactics, while opening angles, moving in binoms, or in romb formations. We also wanted to show some attractive moments from suspect arrect scenario, treating a wounded operator scenario, breaching scenarios etc. The operators wore two-piece black tactical uniforms, manufactured by Helikon-Tex, plate carries from the same producers, along with some fancy Agillite K-Zero, and K19. For their primaries, operators chose to show Colt M5, 5.56 mm carbines, with Aimpoint PRO red dots, Surefire tactical lights. In the handgun category, different models of Austrian Glocks were seen.
As for the breaching gear, we made some photos with Libervit DOOR RAIDER and SET breaching tools. As for breaching, besides photos, soon you will be able to enjoy some boom-boom shots. Stay tunned, the video will feature some video-only shots.

Our next session was with a sniper pair, in urban environment. Both snipers were very keen on helping us to make attractive content. Their setup included Accurracy International AWP in .308 Winchester, with Schmid&Bender Police Marksman II optics, as well as the Colt 5.56 mm system, with EOTech Vudu LPVO optics mounted. Additional gear included Shadow Tech tripod and LEICA monocular.
Our video sessions also included airplane assault, indoor CQB, tactical movement in outdoor urban area.
At the end of the second day, as we wrapped up, we realized we had done a lot of work with the guys, created good content and set a solid ground for future cooperation, in Greece, or Serbia, or anywhere in the world. For the entire time of our visit, every single operator who we had the privilege to work, was very professional, patient and polite. Those are the main reasons, why we had been able to create superb content.
Our two-day work ended with an amazing lunch, during which we learned yet again how good hosts the Greeks are are. We talked about our cultures, shared impressions regarding the work we completed and promissed to each others that this will not be the last time we join forces to create something amazing.
As we write these words, we want to underline how honoured we were with the trust given, friendship and hospitality from every single operator we met. From the bottom of our heart, we thank you and are looking forward to amazing, joint moments in the future.
